Puppy Requires Surgery After Being Dragged Down Street
A 28-year-old male was charged with 2 counts of felony animal cruelty after video been released of him apparently dragging a puppy on a leash down a street in Los Angeles, the District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.
Video shows Dossey James, 28, continuously dragging a puppy up and down a street presumably because the dog refused to walk, in accordance to a new release from the Los Angeles Police Department. James carried on to drag the dog in spite of proof the puppy was hurt and leaving a blood trail on the sidewalk, the release stated.
The puppy got quite a few cuts and scrapes on his legs and stomach area which needed surgery, police explained. He was expected to make a full recovery.
James was being held on $145,000 bail. A large bail amount was sought after investigators discovered an identical occurrence of animal abuse alleged against James, authorities mentioned.
